Connect an AI assistant

Aviatus speaks the Model Context Protocol, so an assistant you already use can answer questions about your own projects and draft updates for you to confirm.

One address connects every supported assistant. You sign in on Aviatus, not inside the assistant, and you can withdraw the connection at any time.

1. Connector URL

Use this address exactly, wherever an assistant asks for an MCP server:

https://api.aviatus.app/mcp

Nothing else is needed. Assistants register themselves automatically, so you should never be asked to paste a password, an access token, or an authorization code into an assistant. If one asks for a client ID and secret, see Gemini.

2. Before you start

  • You need an Aviatus account in an organization that hosts projects. Accounts that only participate through external organizations cannot connect, by design.
  • You connect your own account. Connecting grants nothing to anyone else, and the assistant can never see more than you can see yourself.
  • Your assistant's plan or workspace policy may restrict connectors. If the menus below are missing, that is a setting on their side, not on ours.

3. Claude

  1. Open Claude in your browser and sign in.
  2. On Free, Pro, or Max: open Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector. On Team or Enterprise, an Owner adds it from organization settings.
  3. Enter Aviatus as the name and paste the connector URL.
  4. Save, then select Connect. Claude sends you to Aviatus to sign in and approve the request.
  5. In a conversation, enable Aviatus from the connectors menu and ask it something about your work.

4. ChatGPT

  1. Open ChatGPT in your browser and sign in.
  2. Add Aviatus from the connector or plugin area and paste the connector URL.
  3. Complete the Aviatus sign-in and approve the request.
  4. Enable Aviatus in a conversation and ask it something about your work.

5. Grok

  1. Open the Grok connectors page and select New Connector, then Custom.
  2. Name it Aviatus and paste the connector URL.
  3. Complete the Aviatus sign-in and approve the request.

6. Gemini

The Gemini surface that accepts a custom connector is Spark, in the Gemini web app. Add a custom app, paste the connector URL, and let it register itself.

If Spark asks for a client ID and client secret instead of registering on its own, you can create a pair in your Aviatus account settings, under connector credentials. The secret is shown once and cannot be retrieved afterwards, it belongs only to you, and you can replace or remove it at any time. Never invent a secret, reuse one from another service, or enter an Aviatus password in its place.

7. Example prompts

  • List my Aviatus projects.
  • What is still outstanding on this aircraft?
  • Summarize what changed on this project in the last week.
  • Draft an update for this finding, and show me before applying it.

8. What the connection can and cannot do

  • It sees only what you see. Only projects your organization hosts are available, and only to the extent your own role already permits. Projects where your organization is the counterparty are never exposed.
  • It previews before it changes anything. Any action that would alter your data first returns a preview with no effect, and is applied only after you confirm that exact preview. A repeated request cannot apply the same change twice.
  • It does not read your documents. File contents are never sent to the assistant. It can see that a document exists and, at your request, produce a temporary link that you open yourself.
  • Approving the connection does not grant administrative rights. Aviatus re-checks your account, organization, and project access on every request, so access changes take effect immediately.

9. Disconnecting

Open your Aviatus account settings and revoke the assistant under connected AI assistants. The assistant's ability to renew its access stops immediately; an access token it already holds expires on its own within about an hour. Remove the connection in the assistant as well, so it does not appear connected when it is not.

Declining the request at the approval screen changes nothing in Aviatus.

10. Getting help

Write to hello@aviatus.app. You can safely include the assistant's name, the time it failed, and the exact error message shown. Never send a password, an authorization code, an access token, or a client secret.
