These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Aviatus (the "Service"). By creating an account, accepting an invitation, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you use Aviatus for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms for that organization.
1. Agreement and eligibility
You must be legally able to enter into these Terms and use the Service for lawful professional purposes. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not access or use Aviatus.
2. The Service
Aviatus is an aviation inspection collaboration workspace for projects, assets, Open Item Lists, comments, evidence, pictorial findings, Records, partner access, notifications, and project closeout.
Aviatus supports technical inspection workflows. It does not determine aircraft airworthiness, replace professional judgment, or provide legal, regulatory, engineering, or continuing-airworthiness advice.
3. Accounts, organizations, and project access
You must provide accurate account information, protect your credentials, and promptly tell us about suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless caused by our breach of these Terms.
Organization and project roles control access. Your organization is responsible for invitations, partner assignments, role choices, and removing access when it is no longer appropriate. People invited to a shared project may see and contribute to project data according to their assigned role.
4. Your data and content
You and your organization retain ownership of content submitted to the Service. You grant Aviatus a limited right to store, copy, process, transmit, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the Service.
You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to upload or link content, including inspection evidence, aircraft records, personal information, and material supplied by another organization.
5. Box, Smartsheet, and external services
When you connect Box or Smartsheet, you authorize Aviatus to access that service through your own account and within the permissions you grant. Those services have their own terms, availability, and privacy practices.
- Box: Aviatus provides read-only Records browsing and linking. Each viewer uses their own Box connection and must already have permission in Box.
- Smartsheet: Aviatus provides a one-shot import into an asset's OIL board. After import, Aviatus becomes the working record; there is no continuing sheet sync.
We are not responsible for changes, outages, access restrictions, or data loss caused by an external service.
6. Avi Light
Avi Light is an optional AI helper. Its responses may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your circumstances. You must review AI output before relying on it, and you must not treat it as a compliance decision, professional opinion, or substitute for the underlying project record.
7. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the Service unlawfully or infringe another person's rights;
- upload malware, harmful code, or content you are not authorized to use;
- attempt to bypass authentication, permissions, rate limits, or security controls;
- interfere with the Service or use automated access except through interfaces we provide or authorize; or
- use the Service to develop or train a competing product without our written permission.
8. Project archives and organization deletion
Project leads and admins in your organization may generate a Final Project Archive after project closure. Native evidence and Records may be included as files. Box content is represented by metadata and links and still requires the recipient's own Box access.
Organization deletion is staged. Aviatus makes the organization read-only, closes its projects, and prepares one archive per project. Every archive must be downloaded once before an organization admin can confirm deletion. Confirmation removes the organization and its project data from the Service; individual user accounts remain separate.
To delete your personal user account, follow the Delete account instructions. Account deletion does not by itself delete an organization or its project history.
Final Project Archives do not survive confirmed organization deletion inside Aviatus. Your organization is responsible for downloading and safely retaining any archive it needs.
9. Availability, changes, and suspension
We may maintain, update, limit, or discontinue parts of the Service. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. We may suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect the Service, comply with law, prevent harm, or address a material breach of these Terms.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation.
To the extent permitted by law, Aviatus will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, use, or data arising from or related to the Service.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service or applicable requirements change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when required. Continued use after revised Terms take effect means you accept them.
